"Right, I'll add metal plates to my list then..." AJ couldn't remember ever finding any. They probably got snatched up pretty quickly by the scavengers. "I'm not really fussy. I might have some dried venison leftover if you want?" Vince was his main meat supply, so if he needed to get some more he was sure he could trade the guy something. "Hm, lemme see...lemme see..." He found the top of what he hoped turned out to be an intact glass bottle and started carefully moving the dirt around it. "...why are you collecting bottles?" He asked, looking up at Lily briefly.
"Store stuff in, when it rains collect some water... also a good thing to cook with or well like boiling things in... also don't get the metal taste much in things..." truth be told she didn't know why she collected glass, it was pretty when the sun hit it but other than what she said she just didn't know why glass was the main thing she looked for when scavenging "Also planning on building a small wall to keep things out and well I mean building material isn't much around here..."

"Hm. Fair enough." Everyone had their things, right? He collected all sorts of random crap, purely because he always had a feeling it would come in handy some day. Maybe he was right. "You're right about that. Unless you fancy cuttin' down a tree and dealin' with all that..." He shook his head. That was just too much work, in his opinion. There were always bits of wood to be found, as long as you knew where to look. Why waste time and energy in cutting down a tree? He continued digging around the bottle he had found, getting more and more eager in his movements as more of the bottle appeared to be intact. "What sorta things do you like eatin'?"
"Honestly? I don't know what I enjoy the most, it's like for me whatever I can get my hands on and that will hold me over most of the day and that will give me the energy I need to make it through the day and night... but I do like when fresh vegetation is available... which is why I'm building that wall... going to take my hand at trying to grow something...and only hope the ground will provide what's needed for what I plant in it..." she looked at him "You? What do you like?"

"Hm...y'ever considered helpin' in the greenhouses? I'm not that green fingered myself, but there's a lot going on in there." He'd managed to get his hands on some of the potatoes that were going free before that new Brendon fellow had snatched them all up. He'd also done trades in meat and whatever useful things he'd found in the scrap yard more than once. "Ah..." He waved his hand. "I'm a meat and potatoes kinda guy. Ain't never been into much too fancy."
"Yeah I have considered but they want someone for after sunset and..." she looked away "I just don't like being out at that time even though we are in lockdown basically... just" she shrugged a bit "I just don't like being out after is all... if they have any open slots during the day I would but for now they don't so I just make do and find what I can when I'm forging too" smiling she nodded "You look like a meat and potatoes kind of guy... do you like gravy or no?"

"Ah, that's fair enough. Not everyone likes being out after dark." AJ remembered a time he was one of those people. It was an understandable dislike, even fear. There were more things in the dark than just the Avarus, after all. "I don't mind it so much anymore." He shrugged, giving the bottle a small tug to see if it was loose enough; it wasn't. Almost, but not quite. "Foragin' is good, though. Maybe me and Vinny should take you out with us some time." Considering Vince was what AJ would have once considered 'a pompous city-boy nonce', he knew how to handle himself. He chuckled at Lily's comment, then gave a nod. "Lashin's of the stuff. My uncle used to make his own gravy from scratch and it was...oh it was nice."
Smiling "It's kind of hard to find fatty meats to have drippings you make gravy... sometimes you often regret a lot of things you took for granted ya know? Just like the small little things mostly... even the silly fights you had with someone" she looked down pushing the bin away "I mean even though I don't remember much... what I do remember even if it's unpleasant.. I treasure it... it's weird I know" she let out a small laugh before her stomach started to rumble "Eh..." she reached into her bag and pulled out some jerky and offered him some "You want some?"

"Absolutely." Most wild animals didn't have much meat on them in the first place, never mind fat. He'd happily kill a man for a single bite of a cheeseburger. Even just the smallest nibble. "I mean, I was a kid when all o'this started, so I don't remember much myself." He just remembered living on his uncle's ranch happily for a while. "Ah, I don't think it's weird." He shrugged, giving the bottle another test tug. "They're your memories at the end of the day. They're something that's yours in a world where you gotta share everything..." He looked up at Lily's question and smiled. "Well, sure." He took some and bit a chunk off. "Thanks."
"I would like that, having someone else to go foraging with, now it may not be the finest... but hopefully it's good enough, made it myself..." she took another bite as she leaned against the bins "What was it like before everything happened? I was too young to remember anything... I think at least or I just don't remember anything.." she shrugged "My partner told me one day my memories will come back to me... that something will trigger them to come back"
