Down in the forest, with the devil in me, I remember the looks on their faces, through the sycamore trees

"Before Bosler?" AJ winced slightly when he thought about it. There was a lot of history there, and it would definitely require more than two syllable responses. "I err...lived with my uncle for a bit..." He scratched his chin, thinking about the best way to go about telling his story. "...but he died and I wandered for a while. 'Ventually met this group-a people who took me in." He started rooting through debris to hopefully find something interesting. "An' I-...hm?" He frowned slightly at Lily's question. "Whaddaya mean?"

"I find it funny that you think I care..."

"Well I guess I'll just be straight forward... do you like females or not?" She shrugged her shoulders feeling her face heat up "I mean I just want to know so like..." she moved her foot in the dirt looking down "So I just know where I stand basically and not complicate things... even if you're not looking for a partner" she looked up holding her hands in front of her "Which I'm not either mind you but it is natural for emotions and shit to happen when people spend time together..." she looked away "And probably after this whole awkwardness... I would totally understand if you didn't want to..."

AJ's eyes widened and he laughed. Not his usual gruff grunt sort of laugh, but an actual one. It lit up his entire face, wiping years off of him for just a moment. "Well, I was married to one, so I think so." He winked at Lily and chuckled. "I mean...I'm not against maybe bein' with another man at some point but..." He shrugged. "I've only ever been with women so far, so..." He smiled a little sheepishly at Lily. "...good to know my options are open though..."

"You where married?" She looked down again "I'm going to guess that's something of a personal matter and not my business to pry into..." she let out a sigh and looked up at him smiling "Well I mean should something happen... I won't say no to the idea..." she turned and started looking through some of the bins "What color do you like?" And..." she looked at him "Dont hesitate to ask me anything either"

"I was. For a time." AJ nodded, hoping he wouldn't have to go into too much detail. "It's a bit of a sore spot..." He could still hear the sounds of his own screams at night when he couldn't sleep. He prayed he never bumped into the people responsible for what happened. He wouldn't be able to control himself. He smiled at Lily, though, as she continued talking. He had to admit, it probably was time for him to move on. That that he was looking for anything. He blushed at the thought. "Okay, um..." He thought for a moment or two, trying to think of something worthwhile to ask. "Y'ever, err...y'ever been sailin'?"

"What kind of sailing? Like Sand sailing on the dunes or sailing on the waters?" She pushed the bin aside and pulled another one towards her "it's been some time since I've seen the water and actually been out on it... though I don't remember if I can swim or not.. I've... had issues in the past with memory my last partner before I wondered here I know we would go a lot but I remember that I would black out a lot on the water.. so I don't know but do know like I know it's there I just can't remember it all.." she shrugged her shoulders "But sand sailing is fun when there is a great breeze going otherwise it's just... boring, what about you? Have you?"

"Sailing on the water." AJ smiled. His uncle used to take him out on the yacht, but that was before everything went to hell, of course. He'd often gone fishing with Vince since then, and the two of them had managed to get a small row boat in sailing condition. It still required regular maintenance, but it at least got them into the deeper waters where all the fish liked to hide. "Yeah, I've been sailin'. Never did any sand sailin', though, so you got that on me."

"If you do.. make sure it's on a windy day" she moved over to another set of bins once again putting glass into the one bin she found "Sooo I didn't see you much in town for awhile what where you doing mostly?" She looked at him smiling "Also what are you looking for too so I can set it aside as well..." she dumped one of the bins into the other so that he would have an empty one to put stuff in "After this would you like to come over and have a late lunch Or early dinner with me before the sun sets?"

AJ nodded. "Consider it noted, ma'am." He chuckled, then settled back on his haunches. "Ahh I was jus' keepin' myself busy, y'know? Doin' jobs and stuff..." He didn't have the heart to admit he had been avoiding her. Maybe at a slightly more comfortable point their relationship. Not that keeping secrets was a good foundation to go with, but it was a damn sight easier for him to admit to things later on than outright in the beginning. "I'm jus'..." He pushed a few things around gently with his fingertips. "...seein' what I might see. What about you?" He looked over to Lily with a small smile. As for a lunch or dinner invite, for a few moments he didn't know how to reply. He didn't want to appear too eager, obviously, but being anywhere away from his own bed space before dark was potentially dangerous. Not that he couldn't handle himself against an Avarus if he needed to; he just preferred not to. "Perhaps lunch? Might be safer, y'know?"

"Mostly glass that's not broken at this point and some metal plates..." shuffling through the bins "Good after we finish here if it's not too late we can have some lunch" she turned hiding her excitement "Anything special or just whatever is fine?" she pushed the two bins she finished going through towards him "Hmm what else..." she rubbed her chin a bit "You have any more questions about me?"
